about this home's

Storybook Sante Fe Style Bungalow

Nestled in the Broadmoor District of San Leandro with quiet streets and walkable amenities, 858 Alice is a storybook Santa Fe style home with whimsical spaces and a pleasant flow. As you walk up, you are greeted by mature yet restrained landscaping, a touch of bougainvillea, and a soft pink exterior that feels reserved yet bold all at once! Walk through the front door to a foyer and a formal living room with beautiful original floors and traditional fireplace. To the right, a hex shaped dining nook provides an intimate space to come together. The kitchen is tastefully updated with white cabinetry and counters, newer appliances, and tons of storage space. Look more closely and you’ll find a hidden utility area that houses the washer and dryer. Flow through the kitchen and you’ll find a bedroom immediately to your left as you enter the hallway and the bathroom and rear bedroom just beyond that. The bathroom has been updated with clever tile that brings a bit of boldness, but doesn’t overwhelm. Both bedrooms are a generous size and both pass through glass rear doors onto a magical deck space. Designed and built by our seller, the deck space is large enough for entertaining and dining for a good size group. The pergola and draped canvas encapsulates you and makes you feel like this a space you don’t want to leave. But if you step just off of the deck, you find a mature and well-landscaped yard space with an artificial lawn that makes for convenience and design sophistication. The adorable original garage is the perfect space for storage, work from home, or plenty of other purposes to suit the new owner. The best part of 858 Alice however, is the location. The neighborhood is tree lined and walkable with tons of amenities nearby. Walk to restaurants, hop on the freeway, walk to Lake Chabot, head over to the park, or even stroll over to school in the morning. This artistic bungalow has so much to offer its new owners that they will find themselves in love with this home for years to come!

858 Alice Avenue

San Leandro is a small city just south of Oakland. Its east side stretches up into the hills of the East Bay Regional Park District. The west side is flatter and has the advantage of the San Francisco Bay shoreline, public golf course, and marina.

Homes for sale in San Leandro can be traced through the decades -- from the 1910s to the present day. A wide variety of architectural styles is found in north San Leandro. Dramatic, hillside contemporary homes, many of which feature expansive bay and canyon views, are the hallmark of the Bayo Vista neighborhood. Charming, older homes sit along the winding streets of the Estudillo Estates and Broadmoor Districts. Most of the city's ranch-style homes lie towards the Marina, along with some newer, custom-home developments.

San Leandro is proud of its small-town feel and boasts a Wednesday farmers' markets, several annual festivals, and an increasing number of locally owned restaurants and coffee houses. San Leandro’s commute options are excellent: it has its own Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) station, transbay buses, and easy access to Interstate 880 and Interstate 580 for trips to the Silicon Valley or San Francisco.
